Fr. Chris Alar, M.I.C., After Suicide: There’s Still Hope for Them and You

“Everywhere I go,” Fr. Chris Alar  comments to Doug Keck at a recent Catholic Marketing Network gathering in Lancaster, PA, “someone will come up to me, asking for prayers for a loved one who took his or her life. It’s such a huge problem today.” Fr. Chris wrote After Suicide: There’s Still Hope for Them and You for those struggling with grief, to understand the Church’s stance on suicide. The Catholic Church does not teach that someone who commits suicide is necessarily lost, which is a great cause for hope. “After Suicide is a little book with a big message, the host of EWTN Bookmark concludes. “If you’ve not lost anyone in this tragic way, you will undoubtedly be able to help someone else going through this sorrow.”
