Amanda Lauer‘s two historical novels were born on the job as a newspaper journalist. The gentleman Amanda was interviewing had a home full of Civil War memorabilia, and he was happy to tell her the story behind an arresting portrait of a Civil War officer. That officer’s experiences formed the basis for A World Such as Heaven Intended. Lauer also consulted with experts on Church customs and practices of the 19th century, to render both A World Such as Heaven Intended and A Life Such as Heaven Intended truly authentic. A fascinating EWTN Bookmark interview with Doug Keck from one of the fine Catholic Writers Guild authors present at the 2018 Catholic Marketing Network gathering.
